Welcome to the Little Paxton Parish Council Website
Little Paxton is a village with a population of around 3,000 and is situated approximately two miles north of the market town of St. Neots. The Great Ouse River forms the boundary to the south-east, the river forms part of the Paxton Pits Nature Reserve which has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest giving the area statutory protection. The Reserve which boasts a large variety of meadow plants, includes a Visitors Centre, a footpath network, including two nature trails and observation points for bird watchers, it is of considerable nature conservation value, especially for certain species of wildfowl. In particular, Paxton Pits accommodates one of the largest inland Cormorant colonies in the UK.

Planning Application 0802209REM Residential Development Bydand Lane Industrial Estate, Bydand Lane, Little Paxton
The Parish Council has received copies of the plans for the housing development at Bydand Lane. The previous planning application was withdrawn by the applicant.
A public consultation evening has been arranged by the Parish Council on Thursday 31st July 2008 7pm- 8pm in the back room at Little Paxton Village Hall to allow residents the opportunity to view the plans and speak to Councillors.
Residents in Bydand Lane, Church Close,Park Avenue and Park Crescent are invited to attend.
If you are unable to attend and would like to see the plans, please contact the Clerk who will make alternative arrangements .
If you would like to attend but require transport again please contact the Clerk.
The Council will make its decision on the Planning Application at its next meeting on the 7th August 2008.
Please note that as this is a NEW planning application - comments with regards to the previous planning application will be not be taken into account.
If any residents have objections to the plans, they are advised to write directly the planning authority at Huntingdonshire District Council, Head of Planning Services, St. Mary’s Street, Huntingdon PE29 3TN . Email mail@huntsdc.gov.uk.
